Massage Modalites-Inquiring Minds Need to Know!!
Many people ask about massage modalities. Because my work is integrative and client centered, I tend to not think in terms of techniques, but the relationship and response I am engaged with in the moment during treatment.
What’s in a name? That which we call a rose
By any other name would smell as sweet…
So, without further adieu, here are the massage modalities I have trained in:
- Integrative Swedish
- Polarity
- Reiki, level 2
-
Deep Tissue/Trigger Point
- Sports Massage
- Structural Release
- Aromatherapy
- Acupressure
- Esalen Massage
- Breema
- Pre/Post Natal
- Orthopedic Massage
- Ortho-Bionomy
- Body Treatments {Jamu, Tara, Jurlique, Babor, Aromatherapy Associates}
I have over 1300 hours of training, not including associated trainings and workshops in channeling, meditation and yoga. Here is a glossary of terms.
What is more important to me than the intellectual knowing of a particular technique, is the phenomenological application that is appropriate and will address my client’s needs. I want you to feel better in your body, gain insight and awareness, not get hung up on the names of muscles or techniques. This only keeps the thinking brain running the show and dulls the direct felt experience of the body. Massage is a shedding of attachments to reveal and reclaim authentic balance, and a wonderful opportunity to practice being present with your experience rather than analyzing, naming, or interpreting. Join me in savoring the knowing of the body, free of names, that is alive, sensory, and wants to be reclaimed!
